PowerLine Industry

For over three decades, IPole repair products have been the go-to solution for addressing woodpecker damage on power poles. These innovative products not only repair structural damage but also prevent wood decay using the science of our patented negative ion technology.

IPole repair products provide complete solutions to both fixing the structural damage woodpeckers may have created on a utility pole as well as preventing future damage at that location. This amazing foam (expanding polymer concrete) not only expands to twice its size, but it has other properties engineered into it that cause the foam to penetrate through any decay to bond into the undecayed wood.

Once cured it will flex and move without separating from the wood. This is most critical during stress-causing events like high winds. Most hole fillers will adhere to the decay, but the problem is the decay itself is not adhered to the good wood. These fillers do very little to repair the structural weakness and the untreated decay continues.
With IPOLE-WPK, the decay is actually sterilized. To top it off, it has an odor that repels woodpeckers.
CAPS

Reducing future wood pole rot significantly improves system reliability, providing cost-effective, extended maintenance-free operation and increasing the asset value. Wood poles naturally have cracks in their surface that can extend 30 to 40 mm; these voids allow water to gather and, over time, will cause decay to form in the pole top
Using IPOLE Pole Caps creates a permanent flexible cap on the pole top. This unique product has a slow-release formula, deters birds, and stops decay as it contains a proven ingredient to rejuvenate the preservative. The finished product is flexible and weather-resistant.

Sniff'n'Stop Coarse Granules & Odorant Pouches
Throughout the powerline and utility industry, substations and transformers have numerous panels and boxes where rodents, squirrels, snakes, and insects can gather. To prevent damage to wiring and protect your investments from wildlife, Sniff'n'Stop coarse granules and odorant pouches can be applied to deter these pests.

Coarse granules can be used to create a perimeter around your equipment to keep snakes and rodents from crossing over. Additionally, our odorant pouches can be placed inside the panels and electric boxes to keep out rodents, bugs, and snakes that can damage your equipment and harm your workers.

Cost-effective woodpecker deterrence is simply a matter of coupling an effective deterrent with the knowledge of where the woodpecker is most likely to strike. The deterrent is the proven IPOLE-WPD Woodpecker Deterring System. On existing poles, the woodpecker has supplied the BLUEPRINT. Cost-effective woodpecker deterrence involves targeting and applying a limited amount of IPOLE-WPD onto select areas of the wood structure.
Application areas include peck-outs, around existing holes, and in other areas of demonstrated woodpecker activity. Things to look for include high stress areas of the structure and the pattern of woodpecker activity on adjacent poles.
Existing woodpecker activity areas provide an excellent blueprint for deterring these creatures of habit. In addition, a review of woodpecker activity on adjacent structures can often identify patterns where treatment should also be considered. Tests have shown that coating these identified areas with IPOLE-WPD provides a high probability of successful deterrence. Woodpecker activity in high-stress areas of a structure can lead to a significant reduction in its service life. These high-stress areas include down guys, cross arms, braces, insulator attachments, etc.
Coating these attachment areas with IPOLE-WPD can reduce woodpecker activity and increase reliability.
